Important Course Information

Welcome to FRP106, Fire Extinguisher Training. This course consists of two sections, each of which must be completed with a passing score in order to receive credit for the course in TEDS.

Note: The hands-on session must be completed within 60 days of completion of the online session!

The link below is to the Performance Evaluation form for the hands-on session. You must bring the Performance Evaluation document to the hands-on session. The document will open in another window. Please fill it out online, print it, and bring it with you to the hands-on session.

Online Session of FRP106

The first part of the course is online and provides information you will need to make decisions about when and how to fight a fire. You must pass an exam at the end of the online session with a score of 80% or greater to pass this section of the course.

Hands-On Session of FRP106
The second part of the course is hands-on where you will have an opportunity to practice using the fire extinguisher with a qualified instructor.  You must pass a fire extinguisher operation evaluation checklist with 100% accuracy to pass this section of the course. 

Objectives

After completing the online and hands-on session of this course, students will be able to identify the elements of a fire, fire classifications, fire extinguisher classifications, types of fire extinguishers, when to fight a fire, and will demonstrate the PASS method used to operate a fire extinguisher.
