Welcome to the FIE Annual Refresher Briefing

You continue to play a unique role as an SCI access holder at Sandia National Laboratories. Having SCI access allows you to enable or execute Strategic Intelligence Partnership Program (SIPP) activities that we are tasked with performing on behalf of our national intelligence community sponsors. I sincerely appreciate your continued commitment to this body of work, your willingness to adhere to the requirements that come with holding SCI access, and the great responsibility you have accepted for protecting our national security information.

Each year, all SCI holders are required by DOE/IN to complete a refresher briefing to review our responsibilities and obligations as members of the intelligence community. The briefing includes such topics as Executive Order 12333 and SCI reporting requirements.

Please complete the annual refresher briefing which renews your commitment to protecting the vitally important National Security Information that you are entrusted. In tune with the responsibilities you have taken on as discussed above, completion of this annual training is required to maintain your SCI as well as required to maintain accreditation of our SCI Facilities (SCIFs) and continue to operate the Field Intelligence Element (FIE).

We, the Center 5100 High Security Operations team, look forward to continuing to partner with you to enable the secure delivery of your products and services to the intelligence community. Please let us know if we can answer any questions or concerns that you may have in the areas of personnel security, physical security, cyber security, program security and information technology, and as they relate to your SCI and high security operations. If you have any questions or concerns regarding FIE requirements or the secure execution of your individual programs, please reach out to your assigned Program Security Officers (PSOs) or Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) for assistance.

Thank you,

David A. Wiegandt, Ph.D. | Director
